Right before team USA played their first game in this years WBC, they added 2 Giants pitchers, Mark Melancon, and Jeff Samarjia. Samarjia will probably be added to the rotation, but Melancon opens a lot of options now for Jim Leyland and team USA. Originally Andrew Mil from the Indians was supposed to be the closer dor team USA, but now with Melancon on the roster, Leyland can use him as the closer, and either use Miller to set up, like he did last year with the Yankees, or he can be used as a type of swing man like he was in the postseason. Team USA can use him to bridge the gap between a starter, and the back end of the bullpen. This especially will help because of the WBC's pitche limit rules in effect, so starters have less pressure on them with Miller as insurence. With this option now on the table, or just the ability to shorten the game with their bullpen, how do you think team USA will do in the classic? Do you think this helps, or will it make Team USA change their strategies and lose?
