So today Venezuela played a crazy game against Italy in pool D play. After erasing a 5 run deficit, Venezuela tied the game, and the fun just kept going. The game was tied until Venezuela put a few runs on the board, but the Italians would not go down without a fight. The Italians put up 3 runs to tie the game, but in the top of the 9th Salvador Perez had a big 2 run homer, but that still wasn't enough to win in. In the bottom of the 9th the Italians put up 2 runs to tie it, and had the winning run thrown out at the plate. In extras the game finally ended when Martin Prado hit home the winning run, giving the win the Venezuela. Now my bold prediction for the tournament is that Venuzuela has a great team with a lot of great players, but they got off to a rough start, and this crazy, come from behind win will push them to do good later in round one, and make it to round 2. I say this because a team with the talent that Venezuela has should do a lot better than they have been doing. Also a big win like this clould motavate a team, and I feel like after the preformances from Salvador Perez with the clutch homer, and Martin Prado with 5 hits including the game winning hit, Venezuela could go on and do grear in the tournament.
